Folkuniversitetet has extensive experience in Swedish for immigrants, Komvux, and other adult education programs. We are one of two providers conducting SFI and basic adult education on behalf of the City of Gothenburg. The assignment is growing, and we are therefore looking for new teachers who want to develop a school for the future with us.

Do you value independence and a scientific approach?
Is pedagogical renewal and the desire to try new paths something that engages you?
Then Folkuniversitetet may be the right employer for you. Welcome to us – an independent study association with a strong connection to universities.

About the positions
The position involves teaching SFI in the evenings and online. We will have students in all study paths and in various study formats. You will be part of a teaching team that collaborates closely with school management, administration, ICT educators, coaches, and support functions. Teaching takes place on-site in our premises in Gothenburg as well as to some extent online.

Your qualifications and background

We are looking for someone with a teaching license and qualification in SFI/Swedish as a second language, which is a requirement (at least 30 university credits), preferably with experience in teaching SFI.

You have a genuine interest in language development in theory and practice and in information and communication technology (ICT). Experience with AI as a pedagogical tool is an advantage. You also have very good digital skills and experience from adult education. Further studies and/or experience in reading and writing development and basic literacy are advantageous.

As a teacher at our school, you are expected to have a relational approach both towards students and colleagues, the ability to see students' needs, individualize teaching, and bring out each individual's potential. It is important that you are used to working independently and solution-focused. You need to be flexible, responsive, quick, and structured.

We also see that you value real-world connections and contacts with the surrounding community and professional life in language education, as collaboration within talent education or internships is part of the assignment. You create good relationships with students that motivate them to develop. We expect you to share our view of the equal value of all people and their right to knowledge.

About the employment
Part-time, location-based/online in Gothenburg with immediate start.

Application
Welcome with your application by 2026-03-31 via our e-recruitment. Upload your CV and cover letter. For us to process your application, it is important that you attach your teaching license and your qualification in Swedish as a second language in the application form under “CV/documents”. Interviews will be conducted continuously, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
